What does “Edge” mean to you?

Buy Acceptance HERE
By Starla Kaye

“Edge” defined in the dictionary as a noun refers to (1) a thin, sharpened side, as of the blade of a cutting instrument; (2) the degree of sharpness of a cutting blade; or (3) a penetrating, incisive quality.

Taking the word a step further and applying it to the stories in The Edge Series, this is how I see them.

First, they take a reader right up to the intense physical and emotional moment between the characters. Second, the reader waits on pins and needles to see exactly what will happen. And lastly, the reader learns how far the characters will go.

In these stories, the characters go right on over the edge. They have the characters testing themselves, aching for something to happen, and finally diving right into what they need/desire/must have.

In my Edge Series story, Acceptance, Chase and Rico are both missing something important in their busy lives. They are so focused on what is expected of them by their respective companies that all personal desires are almost forgotten.

Until they meet in a simple situation and things between them quickly become anything but “simple.” Attraction sparks and they face a flaring of sexual needs and desperation to do something about it. They reach that “edge.” Do they go ahead and move over that intense moment for a brief taste of satisfaction? Do they resist?

Edge stories are highly emotionally based. The characters can pull the readers along a slow roller coaster climb up the hill before racing down the other side. Or they can grab the reader right from the start and pull them to that intense moment the characters are facing and then jerk the reader right on through it along with them.

Why can’t you celebrate Valentine’s Day in June?

Note: I will pick one lucky winner from all the comments to receive a box of heart-shaped chocolate truffles so you can celebrate Valentine’s Day right away.

So what if a calendar says certain days are celebrated on certain dates? Sometimes they need more than twenty-four hours. I mean, July 4th celebrates the independence of the United States but we really celebrate it all year long in a number of ways, right? So why not Valentine’s Day?
Ever since the Middle Ages when Geoffrey Chaucer first associated the day with love and courting, it’s become a time for lovers to express their feelings for each other—through flowers. Small gifts. Special dates. Hot sex! Why, then, limit it to one day a year? Shouldn’t every day present us with those opportunities? I mean, would you want to wait for one day a year just to have your fantasy come true? A hot guy take you on a dream date? Have the hottest sex of your life?
So this is my banging the drum to celebrate Valentine’s Day in the summer, when long days bring us lazy nights to indulge ourselves in every fantasy.
I’ll bet Kylie Monroe would have given anything to be celebrating in the middle of summer instead of a winter snowstorm. Have you read her story in Lust Becomes You? It’s part of the very hot, very sex The Edge series, and you’ll want to read every one of them.
But about Kylie—she fell in love, and in lust, with Sam Cooper, reaching new heights of ecstasy as they explored the world of BDSM. She foresaw a rich life together filled with love and erotic sex. When Sam dumped her to pursue success in the legal field, telling her there was “always tomorrow,” she never quite recovered from the hurt.Ten years later, Kylie’s still gun-shy in the love department and frustrated in the sex department. Nobody could replace Sam. Then on a snowy Valentine’s Day she has an unexpected opportunity to reconnect with him. But Sam had a real challenge persuading her their love is real this time? Could he woo her back with the kind of sex she’d been missing?

Excerpt:

“Hey, Kylie. What brings you out on a night like this?” Valentino hollered to her from behind the counter where he was wrapping wine and chocolates. “Valentine’s Day and romance, like everyone else?” he laughed. “I love it.”
No wonder. Valentino’s Gourmet Food and Wine Shoppe was packed with smiling people besotted with that stupid guy in diapers. What the hell was she doing here, anyway, with all these people who thought celebrating a guy in a diaper was romantic.
Buying you’re annual bottle of chocolate wine, the kind you and Sam drank, and weeping over it like some idiot.
The shop was jammed tonight, people everywhere looking over the Valentine’s food basket specials and the cutesy little wine wrappers and cork screws special for the day. In the wine tasting corner people were sampling the specials of the day while others nibbled on tiny crackers and gourmet cheese while they waited their turn in line. It was enough to make you sick.
“Hey, Val,” she heard one of the clerks shout. “We making deliveries tonight?”
“Now? You gotta be kidding me. The driving’s so bad I told the kid to go home after his last stop. Who is it, anyway?”
“Sam . He wants a half a dozen bottles of that chocolate wine.”
“What?”
Kylie froze in place. Sam ? In this city? If he was ordering chocolate wine it had to be her Sam.
Hers? He hadn’t been hers in forever. Not since their last time together when he’d said they needed to get settled in their careers before getting into anything serious. Funny. She’d thought they were already serious. Just hearing his name made desire throb in her pussy and her nipple harden. Even after all this time she could feel the familiar sting of the flogger on her ass. She’d never mentioned her desire for BDSM to any of the men she’d tried to be interested in. They’d run as fast as they could. But god, she missed it. And Sam.
Was he married? Single? Engaged? Did he even remember her?
Without thinking she hurried over pushed her way through the crowd to Val.
“I’ll deliver the wine for you.”
Val was so startled he almost dropped the bottles he was wrapping. “Kylie, it’s freezing out and we’re expecting more snow. Besides, I don’t expect my customers to fill in for my delivery guy.”
“Where does he live? Is it far?”
The people in line were groaning their dissatisfaction at the interruption.
“Only in the next block, but–“
“I know him. I think. Is he a lawyer?”
Val nodded as he continued to wrap and sack purchases.
A lawyer. Sam . Chocolate wine. It had to be the right one.
“Well, then. It will give me a good chance to say hello.” She forced a smile. “Really. Okay?”
He shrugged. “I think you’re crazy but if that’s what you want you got it.” He looked over his shoulder to the clerk still holding the phone. “Tell him his order’s on the way.”
She button up her coat again and wrapped her scarf tightly. Pulled her gloves on and took the tote bag from the clerk who’d gotten it ready.

Wanna find out if Kylie and Sam heat up the sheets? Get this short story ASAP and cuddle up in bed with it.
And be sure to read ALL the stories in The Edge. You’ll want to celebrate Valentine’s Day every day.

Sexy Spaniards

Buy Raising the Bar HERE!

by Lucy Felthouse

My story, Raising the Bar, has had quite an arduous journey to publication. It was originally written in third person, past tense. But in order to really ramp up the heat to make it suitable for The Edge series, it had to change to first person present tense, and go through several rounds of edits. Let's just say I say "feel" a lot in my manuscripts – oops! I'll definitely be looking out for that in the future. But I hope with the huge help from my super editor that it's now a story that readers will really enjoy and have them fanning themselves.

Despite all the changes, there's one thing that's stayed constant throughout – the sexy Spaniard, Luciano. He was just a character that came to me when I sat down to write the story. I figured that since so many of my characters are British, and my stories have English settings, that I'd change things up a bit. Therefore I drew on my experience of travel to Spain and the Canary Islands. Sadly, I've never had a super hot fling with a waiter, much less a Spanish one, but I've been in lots of restaurants and been served by lots of waiters. Some are incredibly sleazy, which as a female I've noticed a lot, but some are lovely.

I love listening to their accented English and their attempts at using British slang and phrases. And it's this side of things that I've brought into my story. Luciano is not sleazy, just sexy. So sexy you'd be asking for extra ice in your drink if he was real. And he's a damn good lover – just ask Kayleigh. She had a fabulous time with him and his sexy accent – read Raising the Bar and you'll find out just how fabulous!

Want to a win a copy of the book? Then tell me... have you ever had a fling with someone not from the same country—or even continent—as you? What drew you to them?
One winner will be drawn on Friday 26th October.

Blurb:
When Kayleigh takes a gap year before starting University, she decides she’s going to stay away from guys and just concentrate on having fun and experiencing life. That means going through a lot of batteries, but she’s happy and satisfied.
That is, until she gets to Spain on her travels and meets her new co-worker, Luciano. The scorching hot Spaniard soon has Kayleigh’s knickers in a twist— literally—and the time they spend together seriously raises the bar for her sex life. How will any other man ever compare?

Excerpt:
My first shift at the restaurant passes in a blur of flirtatious glances. My pussy swells and my clit throbs, desperate for attention. It’s all I can do to resist disappearing into the bathroom for a sneaky wank. Even better, I’d like to drag Luciano in there with me and ride him until his teeth rattle. Instead, I console myself with the fact that once I get back to my apartment, I can do whatever the hell I like. And I know for a fact it’s going to involve an orgasm.
I take a taxi back to my apartment rather than walking the dark, unfamiliar streets alone. It also means I can get there quicker and relieve the tension that the sexy Spaniard has caused. I pay the driver as fast as possible then rush inside and slam the door behind me. I heave a sigh of relief as I lock myself in.
Undressing, I drop my clothes by the washing machine and head to the bathroom, desperate to get clean. It’s not work that’s made me feel dirty, though. The flirting with Luciano have left me seriously wet. The panties I’ve just discarded in front of the washing machine are sodden.
Stepping under the shower, I groan with pleasure as the hot water caresses my fevered skin. I stand there for a few seconds, letting the heat and the water relax me. My tension slips away and runs down the plughole. I grab the shampoo and give my hair a wash, digging my fingers into my scalp and massaging it. Now I’m calmer. But by the time I’ve rinsed the suds, he’s popped into my head again. Damn him.

Quick and Dirty

Buy Rub Me the Right Way HERE!

by Kelli Scott
You probably don’t know me, but I’m a hopeless romantic. On paper anyhow.

I don’t remember exactly when or where—it was on Facebook or Twitter—I saw a submissions call for Decadent Publishing’s Edge series. I was intrigued enough by the concept of short erotic stories (that do not require a romantic element) that I saved the web page on my favorites. Reading the guidelines often, I let my imagination go to places I’d never gone before, to situations I’d never considered. Dirty places. Naughty situations. I knew a storyline would eventually come to me—or not. That happens sometimes.

Here’s the thing. I don’t require my heroes and heroines to get married, engaged or even move in together at the end of my stories, especially my shorter reads. I usually expect some sort of promise for more though. A commitment. A declaration of (gulp) love. A date. Something. The prospect of not demanding that happily-ever-after or happily-for-now scenario of my characters was one part liberating and one part terrifying.

What if readers thought my heroine was a filthy whore who wants a mysterious stranger to jack her up against a wall in a dark alley and give it to her quick and dirty? Would that be so bad? Women have needs that must be met and itches that demand a long, hard scratch that leave her sore and raw the next day.

Despite my romantic inclinations in my writing (not so much in my personal life), I imagined a story, wrote it and submitted it. Rub Me the Right Way is a thrill ride on the wild side with a twist I hope you don’t see coming. Check out the blurb and excerpt and let me know what you think. Do you need a HEA ending in order to be satisfied?

Leave a comment with your thoughts and one lucky commenter will receive an e-copy of Rub Me the Right Way!

Blurb:

Heather Bowen is an uptight, stressed out insomniac in desperate need of a massage or a shrink or an orgasm to cure what ails her.
On doctor’s orders, she starts with a massage to work out her knotty/naughty kinks. At the hands of a talented massage therapist, Heather gets a full body rub down. And more. Next stop—a psychiatrist to get at the root of her anxiety and sleeplessness. But is she ready for Dr. Simon’s controversial treatment?

What begins as prescribed therapy becomes a wild fantasy ride of erotic discovery that makes Heather question her sexual orientation along with everything she believed about her carnal desires.

A Rail Tail to Remember…

Buy Love on the Line HERE!

By J.M. Madden

I have a confession.

I love trains.

Not metal toy trains. No, big, ground-rumbling, penny-smashing monsters that cross the country hauling people and goods. I think I became fascinated when I lived in Florida as a kid, and there was a track just a few hundred yards away from our house. My sister and I would be down there all the time, hiding in the bushes and holding on as the big cargo train flew by, smashing whatever we had put on the tracks. I guess I should be thankful that none of those rocks or coins actually caused any damage. I still have some of those coins.

Then, in high school and again a few years later, I traveled to Germany where they were the primary mode of transportation. I loved riding them; actually went out of my way to utilize them as I navigated the country. That was long before I started my writing career, but I think in the back of my mind I’ve always wanted to use them somewhere.

Hence, Love On The Line, which releases TODAY!!! This story is a lot sexier than what I normally write. Actually, let me rephrase that. I write sexy, but this is the first story I’ve written that the hero and heroine don’t end up together in the end. I’m used to writing happy endings and it was a little bit difficult for me not to do that with these two. They were left in a sexy, happy-for-now. Don’t worry, though, because book 2 of the series will leave them in a better place.

Have you ever ridden a train? Either Amtrak or something similar? (My husband is in Japan right now, and just told me about riding the Bullet train, which runs 160 mph. Uh, no thank you.)

One lucky comment will win a copy of Love on the Line. If you haven’t ridden, that’s fine too, just be sure to leave your email to be entered for the book.

Thanks for stopping!

50 shades of WHAT?

Night of the Doms available HERE

by Erykah Wyck

What is it with the sudden influx of BDSM books? Is it really all of a sudden? Granted the success of certain books has made some authors jump in to try and grab their piece of the pie, but for some of us we have been writing and reading these stories in private for years. The difference—they weren’t out on the shelves at Walmart.  And they certainly weren’t mainstream.

The big question is, does having a book like this go so mainstream hurt or help the lifestyle and the genre? I think it’s a double-edged sword. I think anything that gets conversation moving is always good. When we bring things out in the open there becomes a better understanding and sometimes acceptance of differences—different strokes for different folks and so on. But there is something to be said for what will come—tons of knock offs, many very good and funny, and lots of badly written books just out to make a buck.

And what about being termed Mommy Porn? The erotic romance industry as a whole has spent years saying we are NOT PORN, but hot romance. Now there is the label of Mommy Porn and honestly I am uncertain how I feel about that label. How do you feel about the Label?

What ever your tastes just remember—READ ON!!!!!

You can find me

Leave a comment about what you think about the sudden interest in BDSM…or is it Mommy Porn…let us know! One commenter will win their choice of one book from Erykah Wyck’s backlist.

Dead Romantic

by JoAnne Kenrick

Dead Romantic, that's how one reader described Tales from the Coffin series. And yes, she meant it as a pun. And I couldn't be more thrilled with that 'tag', because that's exactly the feeling I set out to create when Estella decided to invade my computer with her dark paranormal tales and her own stories of woe. Yes, she may be a bitter, twisted old vampire who was stood up at the altar by Dracula. She may be still wearing her wedding dress from her almost married status, and she may spend her nights scoffing at anything male with her zombie lover and sometimes faithful servant, Lucy Rot. But let's face it. You know it. I know it. Estella is bound for love...the question is, when and where will she find it?

What's that you say? You didn't think Estella had it in her to move past Dracula, did you? To be honest, neither did I. Hey, maybe she won't be able to. It is her telling these stories, ya know. She has complete power over what does or doesn't happen.

I was certain this series would not be paranormal romance, just paranormal. And very twisted and smexy.
But it seems every time I visit Estella in her boudoir, more of her heart is revealed. She is a tough cookie to crack, but I think I know just the man...or woman...for the job. So if it's romance you want, looks like you've got it. Read the series in order to follow Estella, Lucy, and The Cruncher's love story.  Or, if you're in the mood for a quick, twisted paranormal fix that's smexy hawt...then pick one and dive in. But be warned, Estella and Lucy may be beautiful creatures of the night, but they do bite so keep those hands in!

Indulge Your Book Fetish!

NEW RELEASE BITTERSWEET SYMPHONY, Tales from the Coffin book 3

The Bone Cruncher hasn't visited in a while, and Estella thinks it’s something she did. Misery loves company, but she loves food more. Putting on a smile, she musters up an erotic story. But can she make it to the end of the tale without comfort eating?

To onlookers, Seren lived the high life in London with her orchestra conductor of a husband. She had a major case of unrequited love for her best friend, though, so their relationship was doomed from the beginning. Divorce papers served, it’s time for her to go back to her home town on the England-Wales border and face the music.
Owen, now a postman of their little market town, is thrilled to see Seren when he shows up at her doorstep with mail. It’s not long before they’re releasing their pent up lust and love for each other. Within that mail, though, are letters addressed to Seren’s parents. They’re from her ex and hold a truth Seren is too fearful to face. Even with Owen by her side.

For buylinks, trailers and more.

Tales from the Coffin series, in order
Strange and Beautiful - out now
All the Pretty Faces - out now
Bittersweet Symphony – out now

Treacle and Treason releases October 26th:
It’s Bonfire Night, but the fireworks in Estella’s boudoir are more impressive than any rocket or sparkler.  She has more pressing things on her mind than trivial traditions like burning the guy and crunching her canines on treacle toffee. A spot of unrequited love, and her little deady bear’s rotting body.
What better way to distract herself than to entertain you with a ghostly retelling of the infamous Guy Fawkes and the Fifth of November legend.

Night Music

by Margie Church
Any time of year, starlit nights draw me outside. You'll catch me staring at the moon, wondering who else is doing the same. And thinking of me? The stars have punched millions of holes in the inky-black sky. The crickets sing to celebrate while the owls and night hawks swoop through the sky like graceful ghosts. Add music. Whether the chirp of night birds and creatures, or classical music, ah, it creates passionate emotions for me.
So what does all this have to do with my hot ménage? Brielle is a concert cellist looking forward to spending a relaxing, peaceful, albeit celibate vacation in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Her first night begins with a soulful stint on the cello and her sexy neighbors are drawn to the music and then her.
Have you ever imagined such a night?
She never has either. She's immediately attracted to Zeke and Tyler, but their playfulness leads her to believe they're gay. Oh, such a disappointment at first, but eventually she decides she'll enjoy their fun-loving attitude as long as she can. That's when the tides change.
Night Music is my first real ménage story. One of my other new books has a ménage scene, but Night Music was written as a delicious threesome. For those who enjoy M/M love, Tyler and Zeke definitely aren't bashful with each other. Judging from the smooth way they handle the situation with Brielle, they've played in a threesome many times before. For her first time with two men, Brielle couldn't have picked a better duo. They know exactly how to make her feel like the most desired woman on the planet. I think you'll find Night Music incredibly erotic as well as romantic.

Blurb:
A quiet, lakeside vacation is just what Brielle needs to decompress after her busy concert season. She expects the weeks to pass uneventfully. Until she meets the men next door.
Tyler and Zeke are as adventurous and sexy as the Harleys they ride. The passion they hear in Brielle's music draws them to her.
Convinced the hunks are gay, Brielle lets down her inhibitions. That turns out to be the best decision she's made in a long time.

Contest: Does nighttime and music bring out the passion in you? Tell me your story and you could win a copy of Night Music.

Romance in the 21st Century

by Samantha Cayto

I’ll never forget the punch to the gut I got reading my first romance novel. I picked it up on a whim, desperate to read something – anything – that would clear my mind for a few minutes of the dry, boring legal crap swimming around inside it. I wasn’t prepared for the totally visceral reaction I had to the simple notion of an alpha male pursuing a woman he would come to worship.

I was hooked!

I knew then that my life-long dream of being a writer had to be pursued in this perfect genre. The erotica path I eventually went down just made it all the better. Even now, as busy as I am with the same legal career and writing my own stories, I still end just about every day reading romance. The pure joy I get from the pursuit, the conquest, the conflict and the happily ever after has never waned. Romance and sex are timeless concepts. It makes no difference how old a woman is or how educated she is. It doesn’t matter if she’s running her home or running a country. She’ll always want romance and sex in her life, and for the man she shares her life with who might scoff at her choice of reading material, he should remember who she turns to in bed when she’s done reading for the night.

Sharp Things

By Stephanie Beck

It happens every time. My stomach starts to fall, my hands get shaky and the deep dread that sweeps over me is nearly enough to make me pull back. What is this horrible feat? Well, it actually applies to two of my dreads—needles, and…opening a new ream of paper.

Needles, logically, should be sharp. The sharper the better, I had a nurse tell me after a very bad stick with a not super sharp needle during a flu shot. She was horrified, I was horrified, gravity got very, very close to winning that day. Before I had my first daughter, needles didn’t bother me. I gave blood regularly and never had a problem. Seven years later I still get sick just thinking about a needle.

Moving on…before I get dizzy.

The paper thing comes from paper cuts. I hate them. I have this horrible picture in my head of opening a ream of paper and having the first page slice into my thumb. I’ve been sliced before—quite badly. It was enough to imprint the worst case scenario on my brain and now I simply can’t escape it. I’m very tempted to wear leather gloves the next time I open paper. Maybe even layer two pair.

The nightmare that haunts my dreams: Going to the dentist to have a cavity filled (Novocain) and while in the waiting room having the sweet old receptionist ask if I can help her with the block of paper.

Do sharp things bother you? With or without fairly logical reason?

All the best,

Stephanie Beck

It's Hot Around Here!

by Rebecca Royce

Would you believe that when I first started writing—and I don’t mean the writing I did when I was young—but when I first started trying to write professionally, I really didn’t write sex scenes?  I know. Its kind of hard to sit here now and look at my backlist and believe there was a time where I was so uncomfortable with writing the word ‘cock’ that I absolutely would not do it.
Look at me. I just blogged the word cock.  Its morning as I write this and I haven’t had enough coffee so I will spare you the cacophony of other words that I would not put on the page.  And then something shifted inside of me.  The more paranormal I became in my storytelling (and that is mostly what I do now) the more the writing seemed to require hot language. These people—these creatures—were hot blooded. Of course, they had hot sex and these were love stories.  I didn’t want to read purple prose any more than the readers wanted to.  And the hotter both my writing and my language became.
But, when I was first told about The Edge stories, and quickly wrote one, my very talented editor Valerie Mann, told me that while the story was hot, it wasn’t hot enough. Really? I’d not heard this before.  There was a whole step up I could go in heat?  And thus Unwanted Mate was born.  It really pushed me to my edge of comfort level and with each subsequent story in the Shifters and Bikers stories the hotter it became.
It doesn’t surprise me that when I read reviews of this series, the stories are so highly thought of amongst reviewers.  How could they not be swept away in the same pulsating, steamy direction that I was when I wrote it? I just couldn’t believe it that I’d created these characters that wanted each other that intensely and that I could put it on the page.
But that was the point of the series.  To take these stories and really push them to the Edge.  Readers love them and, guess what, so do the writers who put them on page.

Tell us what you think is hot to read in an erotica story and one commenter will win a book from Rebecca Royce's backlist at Decadent Publishing!

The Idea for—The Landscaper

by Stephanie Williams

We’ve all done it ladies. Fantasized about that blue-collar worker: The plumber, the contractor and the pool guy.

He’s always that hunky, Alpha Male, that doesn’t speak much, but just gets the job done!

In reality however, these men look like Larry the Cable guy. No disrespect, but lets face it, you won’t see him a on the cover of a hot smokin’ erotic novel or even a sweet romance.

What is it about these men that make our imagination soar and our mouths water? Why do we write about these men, and make them the epitome of the Alpha male?

Because there is nothing sexier than man with a hammer or power tool in his hand, or a bag of cement slug over his shoulder.

They look like that can take care of business—among other things. They’re the strong silent type. They don’t jabber, they just go into action.

Thus, my idea for The Landscaper. He’s sexy; he’s hot and ready for action!

Nothing like watching a man, hot and sweaty, covered in mud. When he takes a break from digging up the terra, he stops, rests his forearm on the shovel and wipes his brow with his arm.

Oh yeah!

Now don’t tell me seeing that doesn’t make your mouth water. In fact, you’ll be more inclined to offer him an ice cold glass of beer—or invite him to take a shower to get cleaned up. *WINK*

Leave a comment on what makes YOUR mouth water when you watch a man! One lucky commenter will win a copy of The Landscaper or another book from Stephanie’s backlist at Decadent Publishing. Don’t forget to leave your email address!

The Power of Three: A Story of Firsts

by Jessica E. Subject
We always remember our first kiss and the first time we have sex. There is something magical and memorable about these moments for most. In reading, I remember the first BDSM story I read. It opened my eyes to a brand new world, and a whole lot of fun.

And in writing, it’s much the same. I like to try new things under the scope of romance. While penning The Power of Three, I wrote a story of many firsts. This is my first paranormal romance, my first erotica story, and my first story told in strictly the male POV. It’s also my first ménage to involve M/M action. Pretty exciting for a story I originally wrote just for fun.

Bo and Delayna, although reluctant, experience many firsts as well when Oscar joins them in their bedroom. I hope you’ll experience them, too in The Power of Three.

Blurb:
Cursed to live amongst several stone gargoyle statues, Oscar watches a young couple, yearning to participate in their sexual activities. For he has been away from his own lovers for over a year, and longs to touch and be touched again.

When he tumbles off the headboard onto the couple, he is released from the statue but must find a way home. His only thought: a ménage with the man and woman who freed him. But will they try something new to grant him his return passage, or leave him wandering Earth alone?

Now available from Decadent Publishing, Amazon, All Romance Ebooks & more!

Adult Excerpt:
“Listen, Del. I understand your obsession with the paranormal, but does this thing really need to be in the bedroom?”
Oscar’s heart raced, the man’s fingers achingly close to his stone cock. He needed out of the statue. Now.
“I don’t complain about the model airplanes all over the house, including this spaceship looking one that’s suspended above our bed, do I?” Stepping back, she settled her hands on her hips.
The view? Perfection.
“That Stealth Bomber is worth more than your silly statues and doesn’t cause concussions.”
She rolled her eyes and lunged, making her tits bounce. “Really, because I could’ve sworn you hit your head on it the other day when we were making the bed. Now, give him here, please.”
“You don’t care that this thing hurt me, do you?”
“Maybe he’s jealous that you were getting some and he wasn’t.”
Ain’t that the truth.
Bo glared at her. “So not funny.”
Did she know he was really in there? Could she feel him watching her, wanting her?
Bo lowered him to her palm, but didn’t let go. “You and your creatures.”
She leaned forward and kissed the bump on his head, her breast rubbing across Oscar. “But you love me anyway.”
And then a loud crack filled the air. Light surrounded him and he was falling.
As if being sucked out of the stone, Oscar sprang from his prison and landed on the floor on hands and knees. Taking a deep, refreshing breath, he stood and stretched his arms high into the air in all his naked glory. Being confined to such a small space had left him stiff, and not in a good way.
Delayna gasped, glancing from him to the broken bits of stone on the carpet.
“What the hell?” Bo grabbed the bed sheet and draped it over his wife, knocking the gargoyle remnants in her hand onto the carpet. “Who the fuck are you, and how did you get here?”
He stumbled back. “I’m Oscar and I think, somehow, you both set me free.” The evil sorceress, Catalis, hadn’t bothered to explain how the curse worked, tossing him into this world and the stone figure before he’d had the chance to ask.
Delayna giggled as she eyed him from head to toe, her gaze sending electric sparks along his spine.
He winked at her. Now that he could move, he longed even more to touch every graceful curve.
Bo grabbed a phone. “I’m calling the cops.”

Beautiful Ink

by L.C.Dean

For many people motorcycles evoke either love or hate. For those who attend the Motor Classic in Sturgis, South Dakota, motorcycles offer a ticket to pure escape. Close your eyes and imagine riding through Spearfish Canyon as the sun rises over the pine covered hills. Take a twenty minute jaunt to Deadwood and gamble a little or tour the historic treasures still found there. If curves are your passion, ride Hwy16A and catch a glimpse of Mount Rushmore as you pass through the tunnels. For a less challenging adventure, ride south for ninety minutes or so to view the carving of Crazy Horse Memorial. Check out the races and hill climbs, or have a beer and take in a concert at one of the many bars and campgrounds open solely for the rally. Add to all of this visitors from around the world and motorcycles that range from solid chrome to rusted rat bikes. Sturgis is the perfect place to forget the rules and break loose.

With the Sturgis Rally Rider series written for Decadent Publishing’s erotic EDGE, I hoped to offer a glimpse at Sturgis, while providing readers a little escape. Although the focus of these shorts is erotic escape, of course, the setting adds to the characters’ abilities to break down barriers they might normally be unable or unwilling to breach.

Each of these stories look at the rally from a different perspective. Runaway Virgin offers the point of view of a young girl anxious to escape the expectations of her overprotective father and brothers. Whipped Puppy is about trying new experiences – embracing personal fantasies that are often tamped down in favor of societal expectations. Public Adoration explores the relationship between a couple who hopes the Rally will allow them to overcome problems and see one another through fresh eyes. And Beautiful Ink, perhaps my favorite among the stories, introduces the people behind the scenes, the locals who are not always fans of the masses who descend and the workers who keep the party going. In this case a rancher and a tattoo artist.
I invite you to take a ride on the wild side and visit Sturgis during the Motorcycle Classic. Give me a shout if you’re going and I will buy you a beer.

Blurb:
Too many days of living on soda and energy drinks have left Ink Monroe too keyed up to sleep. She needs a good ride to release her sexual tension so she can get some rest, but when the perfect hottie turns her down flat, she’s too pissed to keep looking.

Hooking up with a stranger is not Jet Ryan’s style but when he rescues the beautiful tattoo artist from the groping hands of a drunk, his personal boundaries fall to a desire to make her scream. He just needs to get past her anger, prove he’s not a serial killer, and show her what letting go is all about.
